Framed up the elevator on the table just like the rudder. Used an 18" break to bend the.035" ribs. Layed out the horizontal step using the position of the evator ribs as a guide to keep them in line. In this photo I'm getting things in position to weld in the hinge bushings.

Made up wooden blocks to hold 1/4" steel rod in the center line of the elevator and stab tubing.

Here you can see the peices of welding rod super glued on the bushings to keep a 1/16" space between the tubing and bushings. This clearance is needed for the fabric covering.

The leading edge of the horizontal stab is held up with blocks to keep the centerline of the stab parrallel with the table.

Getting everything clamped into position.

Hinge bushing welded in. Wooden dowel being used as a hinge pin. The steel rod used to hold the bushings in alignment while welding had to be hammered out with some difficulty.

Another set of welded in hinge bushings.
