Checking set-up for wing fold tube mechanism.

Checking clearance of where the ing fold bracket passes through ribs in front of spar.

Wing fold tube and bracket. Note the 1/8" spacer between spar and wing fold tube guide. This isn't on the plans but mentioned in Fred Keip's wing construction manual.

Checking alignment of bracket with tube. Real pain. Had to remove spar & rib assembly, heat bracket and hopefully bend it to the right position. Then install spar & rib assembly to check. Then do it again until aligned.

Testing wing fold operation.

Checking wing fold.

Wing fold tube bracket welded to fuse. Heated and twisted to align the pivot angle to meet with where wing hangs on side of fuselage.

Another view of twist in bracket. Used a long piece of 1/2" tubing to align the twist in the bracket in line with the mounting tube on the side of the fuselage.

Another view of twist in wing fold bracket.

Wing fold tube slide assembly. Went and spent a bunch of time bending an offset in it to clear the rib reinforcement angle only to find out that the assembly needs to be spaced 1/8 " from the spar.
