Initial runup. Checked everything out. Zero time on the hobbs. OAT near 90 degrees.

Here goes. Started fairly easy. Start up checklist. Plane secure; main electric disconnect on; mag, alternator, instrument switches all on; throttle open 1/4" to 1/2"; fuel shutoff on; mixture full rich; clear prop; engage starter. Ran rough but this was my first time and I didn't know any better.

1 minute on hobbs. Left side EGT over 1000. No right EGT to speak of.

Tried richening the AeroCarb to get a smokey exhaust. No luck. Pulled cowl and double checked everything. Right intake manifold was loose at hose clamp. Must have loosened clamp to route wires or something and never tightened it back up. Engine ran smoother.

Not impressed with oil pressure reading. Came to find out I had put in the wrong settings for the VDO sending unit. Put in a max pressure of 81psi instead of the max pressure of the sender which was 145 psi, so the reading is alot lower than the actual pressure.

Temps started to even out.

4 minutes on hobbs.

Left rear EGT 1027. Left rear CHT 300. Oil temp 138.

Right rear EGT 1023. Right rear CHT 291. Oil pressure 14psi which should correct to 25psi. 1272 RPM.

Should of had the video camera zoomed in like this all the time. Oil temp didn't seem right. Constantly reading around 138 degrees. Called MGL and they said the senders leads were backwards. A real pain. No instructions for the correct wiring so I thought it didn't matter.

Left rear 1193 EGT, 293 CHT.

Right rear 1130 EGT, 287 CHT. 14psi oil pressure which corrects to 25psi.

8 minutes on hobbs.

Fooled around trying to fine tune the AeroCarb. Couldn't get it to operate without constantly adjusting the mixture for the throttle setting. Wanted to do a full throttle static check. Wasn't comfortable trying to do it standing outside the plane.

Full throttle runup 3120 RPM. I thought that tree was straight before I started?
